I am a Certified Veterinary Technician who believes strongly in feeding a high-quality diet. My great dane, Moby, just didn't do well on Science Diet, and after eating Eukanuba for a year he simply refused to take another bite. We couldn't get him to put on weight and he hovered at a too-small 140 pounds. After trying a couple other brands I bought a bag of NutriSource Large Breed Adult and got phenomenal results. He finally put on that last 20 pounds his large frame required, and he hasn't skipped a meal in 3 years! 4 years ago he was diagnosed with Wobbler's Disease which could be affecting his joints, balance, and giving him pain, but he is a healthy 7 year old now with no signs of slowing down. I believe part of his good health is due to a high quality food. I won't feed anything else to my pets. I have been regularly buying NutriSource Adult Chicken and Rice Formula dog food for my dog, David. David is an 8 year old cockapoo and my closest companion and a solid member of our family. As a single parent of three kids, buying "premium" dog food has not always been a priority, in fact, it has only been the last 6 months I chose NutriSource at my local Pet Store. I've been meaning to tell you we've tried nurtisource grain free, large breed chicken for a couple of the dogs. OMG, amazing & dramatic results.

Kirby, our "forever foster" senior boxer w/ cardiomyopathy, was emaciated & covered in more fleas than I truly thought possible when he was finally free from 8 yrs of living on a chain (according to neighbors where he lived) & came into rescue last summer. in almost 12 yrs of being involved in rescue, I?ve never seen anything like it. After trying various foods, w/ some improvement, but still issues (skin), I decided to try "grain free" for him, so looked at your list & chose Nurtrisource. Within a month his skin was starting to look AMAZING.  SO, seeing Kirby's response, I decided to see how Wrigley, our 6ish yr old boxer (whom we've had since he was about 4 months old), who has just always had sensitive stomach, skin, ears, etc. of all the foods, he always done best on eagle holistic duck, but even w/ that, not what I would call great. After eagle was purchased by wellpet (or whoever), we "toyed" w/ some other precise formulas, as well as others on your list, but put ultimately put him back on eagle duck because he just didn't do as well on anything else. AGAIN, once we started the Nurtisource grain free, within about 4 wks, like we saw in Kirby, it was OBVIOUS that Wrigley's body was responding to this food-digestively, skin, and ears. Wanted to share this experience with you as well as THANK YOU for all the great info you make available. Hi there, Our dog Sadie (golden retriever) has food alergies and the only food she can eat is the NutriSource/Pure Vita?Salmon & Potatoe formula. Ever since we started her on the formula (1 1/2 years ago) we noticed a huge improvement with her. This food has definately saved us money as we no longer need to have monthly vet appointments and prescriptions to get rid of yet another infection. Sadie is such a wonderful dog! We rescued our dog from the local shelter when she was a puppy and now she is 3 years old. We have tried her on numerous dog food brands because of her very sensitive GI tract. My six year old chihuahua-pug Charlie is a rescue dog, and when I adopted him, he was emaciated and had no hair on his neck and underside of his body...the rest of his fur was thin and fell out easily due to his life time of poor nutrition. He also came to me with a burn scar on his back where someone had burned him with a car lighter. I tried him on different foods to try and get him to grow some hair and some muscle (because even after he gained his weight back, he was still a gangly awkward thing) and nothing ever worked. He did poorly on Innova and Science diet and actually lost hair. Then I started him on PureVita a year ago and I am absolutely amazed! Charlie bulked up to look like a chihuahua-pug ought to, and he grew all of his missing hair back. Even over his burn scar! He looks so healthy and so much more energy now that I couldn't be happier! I foster Great Danes through the Northwest Florida Great Dane Rescue. When I got my 1st two fosters I was using a food that claimed it was the same as blue buffalo but cheaper. My danes didn't seem to eat a lot of it which I contributed to them getting used to their new surroundings. After a month they still didn't seem to be eating it and their stool always seemed loose. I was given a free sample bag of your large breed grain free dog food and decided to try it on them. They ate it like they had not eaten in weeks, I have never seen them clean a bowl like that. I have since switched to your brand and they now "patiently" wait for me to fill their bowls and finish every bite, they had never done that before. I breed and show Golden Retrievers and have for the past 30 years. Over those 30 years I have tried all kinds of different foods. Reps at the dog shows would talk me into trying their "wonder" food and sadly while it wasn't a bad food it wasn't a wonder food. We moved a few years ago to a rural area where good dog food was hard to find and if we could find it the price was twice as high as in the metro city areas. I recently adopted an adult German Shorthair Pointer - he was being fed Purina One and Purina Pro lamb and rice or chicken and rice formulas. His coat was dull, and he shed like crazy. And the skin around his eyes was puffy and the hair was gone. I started looking around online (reading ingrediant lists) and I'm not even sure how I stumbled on to NutriSource but after reading the testimonials here and the ingrediants I decided to take the leap and I couldn't be happier! I've been feeding NS for about 2 weeks now and you should see my dogs coat! It has a softness and luster to it that is just amazing. Light reflects off him. I'm kind of proud of it - Lol! I can't wait to have someplace to take him and show him off! His coat is so pleasant to touch now that you find yourself petting him more because of it. It's that soft! Even my six year old noticed! And the hair around his eyes has started growing in. He's loosing the pink raccoon look (liver GSP's have very pink skin). And I swear - he's not shedding like he did before. I gave him a good rub with one of those gloves with the nubs on it. Pulled out a ton of old dull hair. And now when I use the glove - barely any hair comes out. I thought it would be more expensive to feed him this way, but I figured out it costs me about.75₵ a day to feed him. It's actually cheaper to feed my dog a FAR SUPERIOR dog food! I love that it has all the extras (minerals, enzymes, etc.) that promote long life and good health. My dog is eating better than I am! I just wanted to take a minute to tell you how much we love the Nutrisource Dog Food! We started using it this past winter, after our newly adopted rescue dog, Dexter, started developing chronic ear infections. He also had a nasty habit of eating his own feces. For both of these reasons, someone suggested we try putting him on a grain-free diet. The staff at Chuck & Don's recommended the Lamb Meal and Rice Formula. She also told me that an added benefit of this dog food would be less animal waste to pick up. I frankly didn't believe that part, but was willing to try the product. I am so happy with the results! Not one ear infection since we switched. No more feces eating, and although I had to see it to believe it, there really is less waste. We had tried one other brand of grain-free food first, which was considerably more expensive, and it didn't solve all of our issues. So, to get these wonderful results at a more affordable price is just great news. So, thank you for making a quality product. It's been hard finding a good grain-free kibble that all three of my Golden Retrievers absolutely love. Your product was recommended by the staff at Chuck and Don's and I've never had bad advice from their very knowledgeable crew.
I have two goldens - aged 5 and 6 - that I started fostering for a friend of my son. They are now permanently in my care. ?I had little to no history on these dogs, but it was obvious that the older one had allergies to something - probably to wheat and/or corn. All 100 pounds of her (yes, she's a really big golden retriever) loves the grain free PureVita. The itchiness, scratching and occasional 'hot spot' symptoms have all but disappeared, and the coats on both dogs has improved considerably.
I also have a 5 month old golden and I've started feeding it to her as well. I was feeding her Solid Gold Wolf Cub, but she also loved the Pure-Vita so I now feed all three the same thing and they're all right there with tails wagging at mealtime.
